Hello Curious Community!! We are currently cooking up something new in our studio (and it's not mac-n-cheese 😉🧀).
We are working on new scents for our Curious Candle collection! It's a long process to develop each unique scent because it is always a blend of handpicked fragrances.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀****⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For those of you who are curious about this process; we will explain below:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the first step, we use cotton swabs (dabbed with the individual fragrance oils) to mix different fragrances together. This allows us to determine which fragrances are a good fit for each other (a bit like dating to find your soul mate ☺️❤️).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the second step, we pour 2-3 different versions of the future scent. These versions are slight variances of each other where only one fragrance is different in the blend.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We then burn these test candles in our home to see which combination we like the best as well as send samples out to some of our trusted candle testers. By this time our sense of smell has been over-worked!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once we have narrowed the candle versions down to the exact combination of fragrances; we then pour another round of test candles to get the perfect ratio of each fragrance. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Finally, we test wick sizes because this can differ between fragrances even if the candle jar size is the same.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
