4 Easy steps to clean out your candle jar

There are different techniques to clean a candle jar, however I found this one to be the easiest without creating a mess:

  1. Once you're done enjoying your candle (when about ½” wax remains) fill the jar with boiling water and wait for it to cool. This will take a few hours or you can let it sit overnight.
  2. The hot water will melt the remaining wax which will float to the top. Once the wax has solidified and cooled off, it is easy to remove the remaining wax. Sometimes you might have to repeat this. Empty out the jar and refill it with boiling water to melt all the leftover wax.
  3. Remove the wick, you might have to use a knife if it is stuck to the bottom.
  4. Rinse out the jar with warm, soapy water and dry with a towel. Now you have a jar to reuse for anything your heart desires.
