We are using a water based formula for our room sprays. One important thing to note is that with water based sprays you need a preservative. I know there are many options available using witch hazel in room sprays without a preservative. Unfortunately, they will only last about 1 week until bacteria will start to grow. Even if you can't see it, mold or bacteria can grow and you don't want to spray that in your room or on your linens. Therefore, we use a high proof grain alcohol to help the oils mix with the water and prevent any bacteria growth. All our rooms sprays are vegan, cruelty free and gluten free (yes, some alcohols contain gluten). As with everything, we are very careful selecting the ingredients that go into our products.
